Our school tries its best to provide quality education for all students. In recent years, our school has greatly improved the level of facilities, teaching quality, school atmosphere and support for students. There are over 700 students in our school this academic year. Half of them are NCS students who come from over 10 countries. Their languages and cultural backgrounds are totally different. The school authority continually adjusts teaching practices and administration procedures so that we can achieve the goal of “developing a multicultural environment to facilitate students’ potential.”

1. Curriculum

Because our students are from various ethnic groups, our curriculum focuses on catering for individual differences. We also encourage reading to cultivate students’ self-learning ability. Subject groups will use a variety of methods and activities to promote learning this academic year. These include Chinese bi-week, Reading Awards Scheme, English Day Camp, Buddy Reading Scheme, Project learning, Small Class Teaching, Cooperative Learning, Saturday Tutorial Class and an After-school Tutorial Class.

2. Small Class Teaching

Our school continues to conduct small class teaching this academic year. Student learning is group-based which increases their opportunity to learn cooperatively and caters for individual differences. Following observation in class, experts from EDB gave positive comments and suggestions about our programme.

3. Moral and Civil education

Our school has joined “Project “M” Award Scheme” and also implemented the “Good Kids Award Scheme” which aims to cultivate students’ sense of responsibility in different roles and encourages their moral development.

4. Parent-school communication channel

In order to strengthen the communication between school and parents, we publish a “Newsletter”. Parents are kept informed of latest school developments and can express opinions on an attached reply slip. Most parents welcome this additional channel of communication.
